I was really excited about the turnout that we had today at our 2nd information meeting for those of you that didn’t know about the first meeting on Tuesday! There were alot of great questions asked! People asked about nutrition and i was given permission to give you nutritional advice, excluding any supplement talks. So i have made a new page of Nutritional Advice that i got from a former teammate in college that is now a head coach in another school district.
If you have any questions about the Nutrition Advice please give me an email ( firstname.lastname@example.org ) and i will answer as best i can. Looking forward to working with your sons and daughters and making Kerr Cougar Cross Country a very big thing for the future! For those new people that i met with today, be at practice tomorrow at 6:45am at the track!!
Oh and i have updated the 2013 roster and added the Kerr Cougar Information Packet just in case you didnt it the first time. If you were at today’s meeting and have a physical done, i will get your name tomorrow and have you on the updated roster by the end of the weekend! Keene Invitational is 6 six days away! Go Cougars!!

As we embark on this 2013-2014 school year and XC season, I wanted to share with you some inspiration. I came across this from my college coach today, and usually I just skim things and pass right on by, however today I decided to pause and listen. In saying that I encourage you all who see this to watch, listen, and grasp the “real talk” brought by this message. If you want success in running, school, and in life it is going to cost something. Sometimes it can be simple and other times, challenge us. The choice is ours. Kerr Cougar XC now is your time, there is no better time then the present to leave a legacy of greatness. Are you ready?
We will meet briefly after school Tuesday to discuss the Cross Country season and hand out any information! If you havent, please make sure you have a physical done already! We will kick off the season on Wednesday August 28th at 6:30am! First cross country meet will be September 4th at Keene! Stay tuned for race times!
As today closes to an end I sit here wondering why do we do it? Why do runners get up at the crack of dawn to sweat, hurt, and exhaust themselves? Because we can. Over this past summer I have been taken back a couple notches, just as I have many times before. Running is past time of mine that I will forever will love. I run to show the power of someone greater within me, to run off the frustration of life, and to meditate on life s promises. I coach to leave behind something greater then I will ever accomplish on my two feet compeating. So as the season comes to a start, why do you run? As the trials and pain of the season trample you when training gets hard, why do you run? When the last race is on the line for all of nothing, why do you run? When your teammates become your family, when you see progress through dedication, and after you finish the last race knowing you had nothing left and achieved your ultimate goal…you soon realize…that is why I run. Lets go Cougars!
