Cougars win SAGU Invitational, Ladies place 4th

The Kerr Cross Country teams went to High View Ranch in Midlothian, Tx to take part in the SAGU invitational on Saturday. The race drew over 150 runners in both the girls and boys races.

Leading the way for the Lady Cougars was 8th Grader Sarah Trammel. Trammel lead the race from start to finish, claiming the individual title and winning her first cross country race and 2nd straight top 5 finish. Also earning a medal was 7th grader Jocy Galvan in 14th place.The Lady Cougars finished 4th as a team losing to Hughes (1st Place), Seale Middle School (2nd Place), and Walnut Grove Middle School (3rd place). The Lady Cougars beat Red Oak, Palmer, Desoto East, Desoto West, and 2 middle schools from Cedar Hill

The Boys were next to race and leading the way for the men was 8th graders Corbin Franco and Trenton Kelly. Franco placed 2nd in the race and Kelly finished in 3rd. Also cracking the top 15 and earning a medal was 8th Grader Jacob Meador placing in 7th and running his first cross country race Nathan Adcox in 15th place. Barely missing the top 15 and running a great race was 7th graders Michael Tidwell 16th place and Travis Clark in 20th. The Cougar men won the SAGU Invitational, winning their 5th consecutive meet. The Cougar men beat, Hughes (2nd Place), Walnut Grove (3rd place), Desoto West (4th Place), Seale (5th Place), and 2 middle schools from Cedar Hill.

The Kerr Cross Country teams will be back in action next Saturday October 3rd at the Reunion run in Decatur!

Good morning Cougar Nation! It is that time of the week again! The season is really starting to pick up! We will be leaving the school at 7am on Saturday! Races start at 8am and are rolling after that. There arent very many races so i am going to say that we start closer to 10am, but i would get there earlier just in case! Cougars take 2nd overall, Ladies 4th at Marcus II Invitational

The Kerr Cougar Cross Country teams traveled to Westlake Park in Lake Dallas to take part in the Marcus II invitational. The race had some of the better running clubs that the area had to offer and drew over 1,500 runners from high school to middle school.

The lady cougars were the first Kerr team to race and leading the way for the lady cougars was Serena Bursuch. Serena placed 6th in the race running the course in 14:37 earning herself a top 15 finish and a medal for her 2nd straight race! The ladies placed 4th overall as a team!

The Cougar men were next to take the course and just like last week Trenton Kelly and Corbin Franco got out to a fast start. Kelly finished 4th running the course in 11:54 and Franco placed 6th running 12:08. Also earning a medals were Jacob Meador placing 11th and Julian Corpus finishing 13th. The cougars placed 2nd overall losing to Lake Cites Club team, and placing 1st overall out of the public schools. This marks the 4th consecutive race the Cougars have won the public school division.

The Kerr Middle School Cross Country teams will be back in action next weekend at the SAGU invitational in Midlothian.

Cougars win Boswell Pioneer Run VI; Lady Cougars 2nd

The Kerr Cougar Cross Country teams traveled to Tarrant County Northeast Campus on Saturday to take part in the Boswell Pioneer Run. The Cross Country teams picked up right where they left off last year with great performances from both squads.

The lady cougars were the first to race and leading the way for the Lady Cougars in her first ever cross country race was 8th grader Sarah Trammel. Trammel lead the lady cougars with a 3rd place finish, earning herself a medal. The lady cougars placed 2nd overall out of 12 teams losing only to Arlington Classics Academy.

The Cougars were the next race and leading the way from start to finish were 8th graders Corbin Franco and Trenton Kelly. Franco and Kelly finished 1st and 2nd in the race. Not to far behind Franco and Kelly was fellow 8th Grader Jacob Meador  who finished in 8th place. The Team finished 1st overall out of 10 teams and makes it the 3rd straight meet dating back to last year the Cougars have won. 

The Cross Country teams will be back in action September 20th running in the Marcus Invitational, which is one of the largest cross country meets in the State of Texas.
