8th grade boys repeat as Champions, Trammel places 2nd!

The Kerr Cross Country teams wrapped up their season at the Quad County District Championship race at Central Park in Brewer. The District Championship combined zone 1 and zone 2. The Cross country teams faced off against Aledo, Acton, Brewer, Joshua, Hughes, Mineral Wells, Stephenville, Weatherford Tison, and Weatherford Hall

Leading the way for the women as she has done all year was 8th grader Sarah Trammel. Trammel led the race from the start but was beat out in the last 50m. Trammel placed 2nd capping off a spectacular season!

Leading the way for the 7th grade boys was Travis Clark and Michael Tidwell. Clark and Tidwell both placed in the top ten earning medals.

To finish up the Quad County District Championship, the 8th grade men were led by Corbin Franco and Trenton Kelly. Franco ran the course in 11:03 placing him in 2nd place. In behind Franco were three other cougar runners. Trenton Kelly placing 3rd, Grant Brown in his first race of the year placed 4th, and Jacob Meador placed 5th. The 8th grade boys won the Quad County District Championship beating out the other 9 schools from the other zones. This marks the 8th consecutive meet the 8th grade boys have won. In total, the 8th grade boys faced off against 52 public school from around the state of Texas and defeated all 52 teams.

This caps off a great season for Kerr Cross Country. ALL runners will have pictures made during 3rd period on Friday. Please check in with your teacher and come to the pit in your uniform. After pictures you will turn in your uniform. If you earned a medal at some point in the season, you may wear it in your picture!
