Hard to believe that we are already having our first meet of the season! The work in practice is really starting to come together! This first meet I am only going to run a select few that are ready for the course. EVERYONE can travel with the team on Saturday morning, however only the athletes listed below will actually run the race. I want anyone who isnt racing to come if they want, that away you can see how things are in cross country. You can ride the bus, I just ask that you come dress in your athletic clothes. The bus will leave at 8:30am from the field house. These athletes will be running the race

Confirmation:            The confirmation page should be emailed or faxed to the Dallas Baptist University Athletic Department at (214) 333-5306 or After confirmation page is received you will be guaranteed entry into meet along with complimentary shirt for the head coach only.


Entry Fee:                  College and University will be $100 per gender, up to 10 entries per gender. The fee for the high school races will be $125 per gender (one fee for JV and Varsity), up to 10 entries per gender, per race. A team bringing both high school boys and girls would pay $250.00 total. Middle school races will be $50 per gender, up to 10 entries per gender. Payment can be made on race day by cash or check, filled out to “Dallas Baptist University.” Please make sure you have the correct amount on your check, no refunds will be issued. Entry Deadline:         Entries will be due on Tuesday, August 30th by Noon.


Entry Process:           Entries must be e-mailed to Coach Phillips ( Please divide your entries into a boy’s and girl’s list. Please type the entries in the following format: “Last Name, First Name. Division.” All college and university entries should include TFRRS ID#. No entries will be accepted by mail or fax. Please enter up to 10 runners per division with only 7 counting in scoring.


Meet Information:     All updated meet information can be found on and on


Course:                       The race will be held at the Mansfield Sports Complex which is located at 920 N. Holland, Mansfield, Texas 76063. The course will be a loop course with most of the running done on grass.


Results:                      Results will be available shortly after the competition of each race and posted near the team camp area.


Concessions:              There will be limited concessions (water and soft drinks).


Awards:                      The top ten individuals and the top two teams in each of the nine divisions will receive awards. There will not be a formal awards ceremony but coaches may pick up awards after the results are posted.


Medical:                     Dallas Baptist University will provide a full training staff on site for the race. They will be set up one hour before the start of the first race.


Parking:                     Only school buses and school vans will be allowed near the team camp areas. Spectators will park in the further lot away from the team camp areas. Coaches please advise athletes and parents of this. There will be parking attendants to be sure this is done properly.
